Who are we?
Hi, I'm Tammy and my husband Steve and I are the owner/operators of the Flower Boutique. We own a full-service florist located in Indian Trail, NC., just right on the outskirts of Charlotte. We have a small town, relaxed atmosphere but we are used to the hustle and bustle of the big City.
I have been working with fresh flowers since 1987, I had taken a floral class but could not get my foot in the door, it was a tough Industry to get accepted into. If you didn't have any experience no one wanted to waste their time training, you. I lucked up and found a shop that had someone quit just after Christmas and they really needed someone to fill the spot, so finally my big break had come. Nervous and scared I jumped in with both feet eager to learn all I could. Now 36 years later I still pride myself on staying on top of the trends and new techniques in this ever-changing Industry.
I had a shop in South Carolina for 14 years which I closed in September 2009. My husband, Steve had never really been involved with my shop before but after a job loss in 2008 during the economic crisis he found himself unable to find a work. With lots of prayer we came to a decision to open a boutique type flower shop in Matthews NC. where we were located for 12 years. Steve has made many changes and has had to learn a great deal about fresh flowers and how to properly care for them. We work together daily, and we each have our own thing that we do best. His job starts the minute the flowers arrive, he carefully opens and processes each bundle so that you, the customer can get the most enjoyment from them. He also routes all deliveries and keeps a close check on all supplies that are needed on a daily basis. I am all into anything with flowers, I just love to bring joy to people. I am the lead designer and a multi flower tasker and I am constantly learning all I can so that I can stay ahead of the game..
